Refund policy
Overview
SBR Performance sells automotive performance parts, custom ECU tuning services, and digital downloads. Because each product category carries different fulfillment costs and labor, our return and refund terms vary by product type. Please read the section that applies to your order before contacting us.
Physical Parts (Hardware)
We accept returns on unmodified, uninstalled hardware within 30 days of delivery. Items must be in original, resalable condition with all packaging, hardware, and documentation included. To start a return, email Sales@sbrperformance.com with your order number and a brief description of the issue. Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of approval or rejection. Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 10 business days. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility unless the item arrived damaged or we shipped the wrong part.
Non-returnable hardware: electrical components (sensors, injectors, ignition parts) that have been plugged in or powered; any item showing signs of installation, modification, or damage caused after delivery.
Core-Exchange Products (Throttle Bodies, Fuel Rails, and Similar)
Core-exchange items ship with a core charge added to your order. When you return your original (core) unit in rebuildable condition within 30 days of delivery, the core charge is refunded. Cores must be drained of fluids, packaged securely, and shipped with the prepaid label we provide. Cores returned damaged beyond rebuilding or after 30 days are not eligible for a core refund.
Pre-Tuned ECU/ECMs (SBR Ships You a Tuned Unit)
Pre-tuned ECUs are custom-programmed to the vehicle specifications you provide at checkout. Because programming is specific to your engine, vehicle, and injector combination, pre-tuned ECUs are non-refundable once the unit has been programmed. If the unit arrives damaged or fails to communicate with your vehicle within 30 days, contact us immediately. We will diagnose the issue and, at our discretion, repair or replace the unit at no charge.
Mail-In ECU Tuning Service (You Send Us Your ECU)
Mail-in tuning is a labor service. Once your ECU has been received and programming work has begun, the service fee is non-refundable. If you cancel before we begin work, we will refund the service fee minus a $25 processing fee. Return shipping of your tuned ECU is included in the service price. If your ECU is damaged during shipping to us, please file a claim with the carrier; we are not responsible for damage that occurs in transit to our facility.
In-Person Dyno Tuning — Deposits and Sessions
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a dyno tuning appointment. The deposit amount is applied toward your total tuning cost on the day of your appointment. If you need to reschedule, please contact us at least 48 hours before your appointment; we will apply your deposit to a new date one time. No-shows and cancellations with less than 48 hours notice forfeit the deposit. The remaining tuning balance is due on the day of service. Tuning sessions are non-refundable once the session has been completed.
Digital Downloads (Scanner Parameters, RaceSetupPro, Calibration Files)
All digital downloads are non-refundable once the file has been delivered or the download link has been accessed. If you purchase a digital product and experience a technical issue preventing you from accessing or using the file, contact us within 7 days of purchase and we will work to resolve the issue or, if we cannot, issue a refund.
Damages and Issues
Inspect your order upon delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us at Sales@sbrperformance.com within 7 days with photos and your order number. We will arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.
Warranty
New hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty. SBR-programmed ECUs and tuning files carry a 90-day workmanship warranty covering defects in our programming. Warranty does not cover damage caused by improper installation, misuse, modifications made after delivery, or mechanical failure of vehicle components unrelated to our work.
Exchanges
The quickest way to get the correct part is to return the original item and place a new order. Once your return is approved, we will process the refund and you can reorder.
